A striking gold and black striped Worth evening gown, 1884.
Gallery of Fashion, Figures 124 and 125, January 1797.
I have the description of the outfit on the left, which I am heartily in love with:
“The hair in light ringlets; plain chignon; white satin riband [sic] tied under the chin; Cabriolet bonnet, covered with white, black, and blue striped velvet; blue and white striped satin riband scalloped, placed in the front, with a large bow of the same behind. Round gown of chintz; long sleeves. White satin cloak, trimmed with swan-down. Party-coloured bear muff. Blue and white striped shoes.” (emphasis mine)
